She's here!

We couldn't be more excited to announce the birth of Amelia Audrey Walker! She was born at 1:36 am on March 27th (her due date) in The City Hospital in Dubai. As rookie parents, we had a false start the morning of the 26th after enduring a few hours of regular contractions at home. Unfortunately, they sent me home and I tried not to feel discouraged thinking that I still had a long way to go. I was able to sleep for a few hours during the day and regain some strength. After Josh finished work, we went for a walk around our apartment complex to try to help things along. Luckily, it worked and my contractions started again around 6:30pm. We decided to head out again to the hospital around 9:15 pm and luckily was admitted this time around since I was dilated to 1 cm. The nurse encouraged me to continue to walk and with some coaxing from Josh, I agreed. My water broke after an hour and things started to progress quickly after that. The nurse called the doctor and I was transferred to the delivery room. When the doctor arrived she made me promise to wait to start pushing until she had changed her clothes. I couldn't believe how quickly everything was moving. Four hours after we arrived to the hospital, we were holding this sweet baby girl in our arms. She has big bright eyes, soft snuggly skin and a the ability to capture our hearts with a glance. We are in love and feel so blessed to have her a part of our family. We thank our Heavenly Father for being able to take part in this miracle.
